I write about strategies to turn fans into customers and customers into fans. I also share ways to use real-time strategies to spread ideas, influence minds, and build business.

SlideShare_best_of_2014I’m a fan of the SlideShare social network for sharing presentations.

Because SlideShare combines both images and text in a unique way, it is an ideal platform to encourage sharing. It is simple to embed the content into other social networks too, particularly LinkedIn (SlideShare’s parent company).

The Must-Read SlideShares of 2014

There were more than 4.2 million SlideShares created in 2014. The good people at SlideShare picked several dozen to include in The Must-Read SlideShares of 2014. Take a look at these to get your creative side thinking about how you can create an awesome SlideShare in 2015.

I’m honored that my own SlideShare The New Rules of Selling was included in the Must-Read SlideShares of 2014.

As I write this, The New Rules of Selling, which I published to showcase the ideas in my newest book The New Rules of Sales and Service: How to Use Agile Selling, Real-Time Customer Engagement, Big Data, Content, and Storytelling to Grow Your Business, has been viewed more than 150,000 times.

The power of SlideShare for social sharing

Back in September, I detailed what I learned about SlideShare in a blog post titled: The power of SlideShare for social sharing. In that post, I share six lessons for those who are thinking of doing their own SlideShare. Check out the post for details on each of the six lessons:

  1. Focus on what you are giving away for free on the web rather than the product you are selling.
  2. Put your best work out there for free.
  3. SlideShare is an amazing platform for social sharing.
  4. People are looking for content to showcase on their sites.
  5. You need a great design.
  6. One idea per slide.

I’m always looking for great content to share, so if you create a SlideShare and have success reaching your buyers with it, please let me know!

Here’s to a great content-rich 2015!
