I agree, there are things that already existed many years ago and now appears with a new name and an improved look. Infographics remind me of a flow chart, it's just that infograpghics are more detailed and uses good graphics.

Not sure this quite counts as an infographic: it's an advert for "Rinso" from the pen of David Ogilvy. It's a chart showing the different types of stains you can get on clothing (including a stain made from Ogilvy's own blood) and how to remove them.

Thanks, David. Another early example of content marketing is the Guinness Book of Records which began in the 1950s. From the wikipedia article: "Beaver knew that there must be numerous other questions debated nightly in pubs throughout Ireland and abroad, but there was no book in the world with which to settle arguments about records"
