Have we really come far? More than 90% of our computers still run an unstable Operating system that is vulnerable to every kind of attack. Our web surfing means and methods have not changed since 1995. We still get information in bits and pieces without coherance and relevance. Despite the growth of the "IT aware community", the emergence of India and China as IT powerhouses the majority of the World's population is unaware of the Internet. People who use the technologies use it to sell more stuff, be it "wants" or "get rich quickly schemes", just using the Internet as a new outlet.
Have we come far? Not sure.
Sorry for the rant.
